It has been a busy couple of days. I think I'll start this post with a charming story, one that I'm including in here because I wouldn't want to forget it at Noah's 21st... although I think the joke is probably more on me. Yesterday we went to school parade and then walked down to the post office. I pushed Noah's patience a little too far and he was starving by the time we got to the post office so he screamed the building down. So as soon as I left the post office I began feeding him but the main street of Karumba doesn't exactly have a multitude of places to sit so I decided we would walk and feed and push the pram home. By the time we got home Noah was asleep so I put him down in his bassinet. He stirred for a little while but was quite happy so I continued doing some jobs around the house. I decided he'd be due for a feed soon so I got myself all set up with some water and a snack and the TV remote and went in to get him. I was quite excited because for once I was one step ahead of him and I didn't have to pick him up for a feed while he was all desperate and upset. It was going to be a lovely relaxed bonding (feeding) session... my favourite kind! I got to him and he looked so innocent and sweet, little did I know there was a surprise waiting for me and the look on his face was not adoration but actually relief for what he had just accomplished. I picked Noah up and put my hand on his bum to start walking out to the couch when I felt something slimy... uh oh! Then I looked back into his bassinet and what was a completely clean set of sheets when I picked him up was now covered in poo everywhere, it must have all squelched out as I put pressure on his nappy. Then I began walking to the change table for a quick poo disaster intervention, 2 steps later I felt something land on my toes, 2 more steps and the other foot was hit. I hobbled the rest of the way careful not to spread poo every step I took. I made it to the change table but let me tell you, MANY baby wipes were harmed in the changing of this nappy and boy did I wish I was using disposables just this once because washing that nappy was unpleasant. Thank you to Noah for creating this memorable experience!
On a less stomach turning note the reason I was in the post office was because I was posting Mother's Day presents. This is a little more exciting this year because I am a Mummy too! It is a little surreal but I am very excited for Sunday to come around.
One of the cutest things that Noah does is watch his Winnie-the-Pooh mobile. He LOVES it so much, he just tracks it round and round while it is working. Then when it stops is coos and gurgles at them as if to say "hey, don't stop!". I could watch him all day and never get sick of his gorgeous face concentrating and communicating with his little hanging friends.
