2 Months!

Happy 2 months to Noah. Unfortunately 2 months is celebrated with having your first needles :( Noah had a bad night after his needles and has been very out of sorts all day today. It is sports day at school so we ran a few errands and visited the school to cheer on the kids but Noah didn't like the noise so we ended up back at home cuddling in front of the TV. So it has been quite a boring day but... I don't mind cuddling.
Helping me post some letters - not feeling very happy.

Managed a little smile.

First needles

Noah had his first needles today. It was a little tough but he calmed down with some cuddles from Mum. He doesn't like the taste of panadol. After his needles he slept for 3 hours and he is a little unsettled now. He will keep getting cuddles for the rest of the night until he is feeling more like himself.
All dressed for the windy walk

The clips even have tractors on them

Telling Daddy all about the tough day

Yesterday we started work on our garden. We are going to turn it into a place that we can be as a family that is shady and nice for Noah. We planted the first plant. Noah was suppose to help but.... he was a little tired.

Sucker

Noah has continued to suck his thumb and we've managed to catch a few of these times with the camera. He hasn't yet decided which thumb he likes best so he alternates between left and right. Sometimes he doesn't quite coordinate the positioning of his thumb and he chokes himself and then makes a face like he's angry at his thumb for being so silly. Sometimes he even tries to suck his thumb and breastfeed at the same time but this never really work out very well for him. We think thumb sucking is very cute :)

Out on the deck

We had some time out on the deck again yesterday. We made up a story using the finger puppet book. Noah was the big, hungry giant and he was stealing food from the 3 musketeers.
He had some tummy time and he can hold his head up for so long now. At one stage he got up onto his knees. He also uses his feet push himself off the ground and rock forward. He saw himself in the mirror and smiled. He is such a happy little boy.

Goodbye to 0000

It was a bittersweet day when I realised that Noah no longer fit into his 0000 clothes. Everyone said it would happen quickly, and it did. He has such lovely clothes that I had to make a tribute collage to all of them. It might be silly but looking at these clothes, picturing Noah in them gave me the motivation I needed when times were tough during the pregnancy and birth.

Lovely day

Today was just another relaxing day. Noah had lots of time with Andy. It is very cute watching him cuddle on Andy's chest because his nose gets tickled by Andy's chest hair and he makes the funniest faces. He had a lot of time in his bassinet watching his mobile. We had a great night at the tavern with some friends that. They have an 18months daughter that Noah got 2 kisses from... it was all because he looked so cute in his sunglasses. Charming the ladies already and an older woman at that!

Chillaxing

Today is a home day. We had a big rest and lots of cuddles in bed his morning. Daddy gave Noah his first bottle. He didn't like it at first but when he realised it was the same stuff he went with it. I felt a little redundant but then realised this gave us a lot for flexibility should we need it. Noah is going through a really clingy phase where he just wants my attention ALL the time. Even now while I type this, if I look away he detaches from feeding and plays around until I look down at him. So it was nice for Andy to feel useful in giving him the bottle. While I cleaned the bathroom Andy read Noah 6 'Hairy Mclary' books and played Metallica songs with Noah's legs as the drums. It's great to have some down time together.

Late for school

Each Friday Noah and I go into school to read with the children in my old class. Normally Noah sleeps through it but today he was very interested in doing anything possible to get mummy's attention back. We managed to read with one student and successfully distracted the rest - whoops (lucky he's too cute for the teacher to put him in time out). After we read with with the class we have morning tea with Daddy and the other teachers. Noah had big cuddles with Daddy and then it was time for us to leave. We walked down to the shops so Mummy could get some milk and a script filled, by the time they finished stuffing around in the pharmacy Noah was hot and hungry so we had to have an unplanned date in the cafe but Mummy didn't mind because she got to have a hot chocolate and carrot cake. Then we walked home but Noah had to be in his baby bjorn instead of the pram and the sun was very hot so when we got home we stripped off and had some cooling off time and cuddles with Raph. We're going to rest for the rest of the day.
All ready to go to school

Fluffy Little Squirrel

We call Noah our little squirrel because he squeaks more than he screams. Andrew and I often quote the children’s movie “The Emperor’s New Groove” when the evil lady gets turned into a squirrel. When Noah is old enough, watching this movie together will be a treasured family bonding moment. We watched as Noah’s hair fell out and he looked like a bald little old man. Now we are watching in amazement as the hair grows back, it sprouted overnight and every now and again it looks longer. It is so soft and amazing to rub your cheek against – like that new puppy fur. He also has beautiful eyebrows and eye lashes now.

Everything in miniature

It’s amazing seeing a tiny human resemble parts of your body in their own. The other day I got caught up in this thought and without thinking I turned to Andy and said “he has everything the same but in miniature”. Andy laughed at me big time as if to say, ‘well duh!’. I think it’s awesome though so I’ve taken photos of his ‘mini-me’ bits so I never forget.
