6-7 Months?

I save Noah's photos on our computer in monthly files... "Noah 1-2mths", "Noah 2-3mths" etc. Only recently I had to type the folder name for 'Noah 6-7mths' and I found this difficult to type - where has all that time gone? Where is my little bubba? Noah at 6-7mths no longer needs his Mummy as much, he goes to child care without a second thought. He doesn't snuggle in for milk just because he can smell it and there's no other place he'd rather be. Instead this new Noah makes sure there's absolutely nothing else he'd rather be doing (AKA no other better offers) before taking his required drink and moving on. Don't get me wrong, I celebrate his growth and development but my gosh, shouldn't it (small, cuddly baby stage) last longer than this? Because of this, I make a point of pausing and taking mental photographs in my mind of each little dimple, stray hair, chubby leg roll, cheeky grin, dropped bottom lip and smooshed food face. I stop and enjoy the moments he dreams in my arms and sneak a whiff of that gorgeous baby smell wherever possible. I know to cherish each moment.

Hopefully he feels this way forever

The MOST adorable face ever!

Blurry photo - but good shot of the top teeth

Mess, what mess? Acting all sweet and innocent

Rested and ready to go so Daddy gave me some toys to enjoy

So what's been happening up here? Noah loves childcare and is attending all day Tuesday and 2 hours on Monday afternoons while I conduct professional development at school. His top teeth are adorable and poking into every big grin now. He sits himself up without a second thought or hesitation now. He gets anywhere he wants to be but hasn't yet mastered crawling in the traditional sense. Instead he lifts each hand up in an alternate fashion, shuffles his knees, pushes up on his toes (like the downward dog yoga pose) and then sits back upright again. He loves making new noises and chooses one for each day. Monday was grinding his teeth, Tuesday was a choking sound at the back of his throat, Wednesday was back to grinding teeth, Thursday was sighing or coughing and today is raspberries. He absolutely loves all the toys we bought for him in Cairns. He hits the xylophone properly now (not just by accident) and he loves honking the horn of his car. Finally, he is attempting to use anything he possibly can to pull himself up to standing. He hasn't quite got fully upright yet but his feet are flat and his bum is up in the air and he nearly straightens his back but looses balance. (Don't tell anyone but I'm secretly pleased because I want him to slow down :D)
