We have been going down to support the school children while they verse other school from the region in the sporting festival this week and helping in the canteen - Noah enjoys being very social and loves grabbing at people's hot chips and their change as I pass it to them. Noah is finding joy in the unusual and often times his favourite things to play with are tissues boxes, labels or plastic bottles filled with rice.
I am slowly getting my head around our chosen approach to introducing solids, 'baby led weaning'. This basically means that we skip the purée and rice cereal stage and move straight to offering Noah the same foods we are eating. Obviously we have to modify the shapes of the food so he can grasp it but mostly as long as we're eating a balanced diet, so will he. I tried a recipe this week that I made up in my head, essentially they were veggie, rice and cheese patties. He really enjoyed the texture of them when he squeezed it between his fingers and I don't think he disliked the taste (of the few little bits that accidentally got swallowed).
This will be my last post until we return from our holiday. I know we'll have lots of exciting photos to share with you once we arrive back home.

Andrew was at work during the time I had to cook dinner so Noah had to give himself his bottle while he was in his bouncer. How clever is he!?! |

They have a special bond already, Raph is so patient and Noah smiles every time he comes near |
