Today was Andrew's first day back at work (officially) so Noah and I wanted to support him by going to the school parade this morning. I always wonder if I'm going to make it to anything on time because it seems that just as I get an idea about doing something Noah decides it's time to feed or need a nappy change. So when I walked into the school gate at 8:48am with 2 minutes to spare I was very impressed. It was lovely to see all the parents but weird to be one myself and stand so far back from my class and know that they weren't 'my' class anymore. Moments like these are soon fixed though, by looking down into the pram at my gorgeous baby boy sleeping soundly and realising that I could happily never look at anything else - ever! He captivates me in so many ways. His little hands, his toe nails, his hair (though it appears to have a red tinge), he eyes, his belly button, his cheeky little frown, his sneezes... I could go on forever!
The day went by really quickly (3 visitors will help with that). Noah is struggling a little with wind at night at the moment so I am keeping a record of everything I eat now because I think that's what is causing it... my best bet right now is onions and I'm praying it's not chocolate!
I witnessed a touching moment today as Raphy came running inside appearing to be on a huge mission. He stopped at the empty play mat for a quick sniff and quickly walked straight to our bedroom, circled the bassinet and then sniffed his way over to the bed where he finally found Noah's scent. He seemed calm and contented by this and promptly left to resume life outside. How sweet! They are going to be best buds when Noah is a little more interactive.
We were very happy to finally see Daddy when he got home (at 5:45pm - poor Daddy!). He is a great Daddy and Noah loves sharing bath time with him.
With love,
Elyse
